"Memory could not be read"

   R&R SQL: rsw.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x73dd11a3" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.

A customer of ours is getting the above error message when they run one specific report every time.

They are Windows XP and are using R&R version 12.

In Topic 97 on the discussion forum it mentions adding PDFDRIVER=0 to the rsw.ini which we have done and it hasn't made any difference.

In the same discussion, it also mentions deleting the CDINTF.DLL but I am reluctant to do this without knowing what it does.

CDINTF.DLL is the core file for the Amyuni PDF printer driver.

What happens if the user opens the report, saves the report, opens the report and then prints the report? This might correct the error for them.

   Hi Kathleen,

Please see reply from my client . . . . Where should the CDINTF.DLL reside? Should I suggest that they delete one of them?

"Er... it crashed! Mind you, I didn't print it - I print-previewed it.

Thanks very much for trying to solve this problem.

I've got two CDINTF.DLL files on my C: drive. One is in Program Files/R&R Infinity and the other is in Windows/system32.

Neither has been updated recently - not since 2006. Do you think they should have been?"

Have them try re-naming both instances of CDINTF.DLL as CDINTF.OLD and see if that makes any difference.

   Hi Katherine,

Many thanks for your assistance with this one. Reply is as follows:-

"I did as suggested and ran it (having first gone into it, saved it and re-opened it). I thought it was going to work as it went past the millionth record but crashed shortly afterwards.

I now don't have a CDINTF.DLL file at all. I have discovered that I have 3 CDINTF251.DLL files though.

I wonder if they have any more suggestions".

Does the report do a local sort (do you see a box that displays a record counter?)

Yes the report does do a sort. It is sorting on PVKEY asc and also GADECNO asc

It crashes shortly after the millionth record is selected Records
Read: 1009390
Selected: 1009389

I have an e-mail with screenshots of the sorting and the joins if needed. What is your e-mail address?

If you remove the sorts does the report work? Are there any fields from the database that you could select so the sort is passed to the SQL statement as an ORDER BY clause rather than forcing R&R to do a local sort of the data?

I have added another comment but the system updating the message seems to be delayed for days. Please update my message which I previously posted.

I sent an answer to the sort question a while ago and it has not been added to the log. Are you having problems with updates?
