I got this message yesterday for the first time. Was not able to open a new report with the Wizard only with a blank report. the files are on a local machine. I clicked about 10 times on the retry but was not able to do anything. ____Thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks, worked like a charm. But I ask again, is there a white paper or Tech notes on building FlexLinks. It seems that calculated fields are almost always required and not all are obvious.__Rick Johnson__Rick Johnson

I can vouch for the slow time in searching for the printer. I had some very simple one page, 100 record reports that took 10-12 seconds to fine the printer until I put "D" -default in my control file(RRWRUNIN). As soon as I did that, my reports would start almost immediately.__Rick Johnson

I had this old R&R Tech Tip in a folder. Maybe it will help.______T E C H T I P #7__Randomize__Every once in a while the need to generate a random value pops up in an R&R Report Writer application. In my experience, it^s frequently to randomly pick certain records for audit or other close ex...

Assuming the date field (d_date) is a character field, I would create a conditional if statement:____iif(d_date ="01/01/0001", space(10), d_date)____So, if the d_date is the default, you get 10 spaces, else you get the d_date. ____Rick Johnson__

I did not try it, but it seems to me that you could setup a variable (maybe a ParameteRR) that uses Reccount(record count) - 100. This way, if you have 1000 records in your file, the scope would start at record 900. See Help for a description of Reccount().____Rick Johnson__Rick Johnson

Thomas, I sent a response to your Email but was looking at the wrong lines in my program. I should be:____RI_Printer = " "__and RI_WPTR = "R&R PDF Export"__and RI_outfile = "c:dir est.pdf"__The rest is right. Sorry for the mixup. __Rick Johnson__Rick Johnson

=======> RE: Installing Adobe PDF

Thomas. I run 99% of my reports from runtime via Visual dBase. I use a dbase table (rrwrunin.dbf). I update one of the entries in the rrwrunin with the correct filename.pdf, an use run(.t.,"rrwrun rrwrunin 1") (useing record 1) and it runs perfectly. I have about 100 programs running like ...
