=> SPEED PROBLEM FIRST REPORT R&R 9.0

This may be a dumb question but have you tested running the reports in a different order and checking that the same report still takes much longer than the others.____When you run them in R&R Designer itself do they take the same amount of time to run ?____Simon Bray.

Clipper 5 Slow on W2K

Seeing as how I know a lot of this forum is into Clipper, can anyone tell me how to resolve the issue with Clipper 5 apps running really slowly on Windows 2000. I have read various reports that indicate that it is something to with the way Windows flushes cache buffers. The brilliant response from a...

=> RE: ad-hoc Front End for R&R.

Do you mean a front end for running reports ? We used to use Jetforms Formflow to provide a front end but now use an inhouse VB menu system as that allows us to execute both RSW and VFP reports. Have you used the Rapid Runer tool as a quick way of running reports with user definable runtime queries ...

Performance - RSWRUN vs RSW

I am finding that report stake far longer to execute when using RSWRUN.EXE than when executed from RSW.EXE or from Rapid Runner - I am talking 100 times slower - 2 seconds vs 2 -3 minutes.____Is this something you are aware of ?____Regards,__Simon Bray.

We may be using VFP but we are linking it to MS SQL 2000 for the reasons I gave above. So we have no XBase data anymore.____Regards,__Simon Bray.

==> RE: Querying on SQL dates

We design our own systems and we changed for a combintaion of reasons. We were using FoxPro 2.6 and had constant problems with database corruptions and that language was struggling to keep up with OS technology. So as we were forced into a VFP rewrite we thought we would look at the database and tho...

Querying on SQL dates

Is it just a feature of SQL and R&R SQL that we can do nothing about or am I missing something but is it no longer possible to do a simple date query in R&R SQL against date fields. I would rather not have to create duplicate fields using the TODATE() function because not only is that extra ...

Boxes print as filled in black

With R&R SQL V9.009 we are finding that if you use box drawing fields these will display/print fine if the report is run directly from R&R Designer but display/print as black filled in boxes (hiding the fields that were placed inside the rectangle) when run from RSWRUN.____Has anyone seen th...

Why the System Event warnings

Why does R&R write up to 4 Windows 2000 System Event Warnings each time a report is run. The warnings refer to the creation and deletion of the RR PDF printer. But I am not trying to print to the RR PDF driver.____Simon Bray
