Limit on field name/alias length
In your full 32 bit versions of R&R why have you maintained the 10 character limitation of field name length for calculated or total fields and the even shorter limit of 7 characters for database alias when relating one table to another (R&R SQL V9).____Simon Bray

But I would kind of like to give up XBase reporting and just concentrate on SQL R&R.____Is what I am asking for totally off limits - i.e. is it a real no-no for a reporting tool to create SQL tables ?____Simon Bray.

Steve,__Could you not run the report in a batch file with a check after the report has completed as to whether the DBF file exists in the location you expect it to be. If it doesn^t exist you can the batch file can copy a blank version of the DBF you have stored somewhere into that location.____Simo...

Export to MS SQL 2000
I am using R&R V9 SQL but the report I wish to run can only be achieved if I run two R&R reports with the second report using the results of the first report as its master table. In Xbase I could achieve this and run the two reports in a batch. I can not see how I can achieve this using R&am...

My guess is that the library is irrevocably changed and there^s no going back. Had the same problem with Windows 6.5 over Windows 6.0 a few years back (and that was just a point revision !) - do you have any backup of the RP1 library ?____Simon.

Circular Calculations
I continue to find strange differences in the way R&R for SQL behaves in comparison to R&R Xbase. In this case I am finding that in some cases I am unable to perform calculations that contain totals fields and the total fields are not totals of the calculated field. As far as I can see the t...

Report Status in R&R SQL V9
Is there no equivalent of the Report Status during execution of a report in R&R Designer (haven^t got as far as RRWRUN yet) in SQL V9. I am referring to the little dialog that counts the records read, rcords selected, records totalled etc. All I am getting when I do a Print Preview is a blank wh...

I am in the process of chasing down these errors, as are several others who frequent this group. I have found one thing which causes the error box.____I have used the convert utility to bring DOS v6 reports to .rp5 and then to individual .rrw^s. After this, some of them do not run under rrwrun.exe f...

Improved Color Selection
With the increase in color printing, printing to PDF and on screen previewing it seems strange that we are still limited to 16 color palette.____Let^s have Windows compatible color selection.____Simon.
