Joins across dirs
Do these work at all? In any version? With any types of tables?____In v10 SQL, I^ve gotten as far as a dialog that disagrees with itself - it shows one place as the currrent directory, but lists tables from another place entirely. It seems pretty obvious that this has to be a bug in version 10, sinc...

CodeBase SQL joins
This is still not working right. In RSWSQL.INI, I have a section with:____JoinAcrossDir = 1__DataSourceDBTerm = DIRECTORY____I can now use the Related Table, Directory button to select a different directory. When I click on OK in Browse for Folder, I no longer get an error. I also don^t get anything...

===> RE: v10 SQL table locations
Well, I have the buttons showing up now. But when I try to create a join on a table in another directory, when I click Ok on the Browse for Folder dialog, I get an R&R SQL error:____DB Access: RR SET JOIN: [CodeBase][CodeBase Engine ODBC Driver] Syntax error in connection string.____Seems odd, s...

=> RE: v10 SQL table locations
Well, I thought I had figured this out on my own, but now it seems I have some different questions instead. I created separate DSN entries for the CodeBase ODBC driver for each dbf directory, and then added each DSN as a data source connection. At this point, things get a little weird. According to ...

v10 SQL table locations
That may look like an oxymoron, but when you^re using the SQL version against the CodeBase ODBC/SQL driver, you actually can have tables in places other that the path specified in the DSN, since each table is ultimately still a physical dbf. It looks like you weren^t expecting anyone to do this, sin...

Page Numbering dilemna
While I^ve been able to get a huge performance increase by restructuring a report to run from a single control file record, it^s left me with one problem I haven^t been able to solve yet. The report now effectively consists of a few hundred "sub-reports", each of which needs its own page-n...

=> RE: Performance question
Just wanted to thank everyone for the replies and pass on what I^ve discovered so far.____I had this report emptied to the point that all it did was connect to the tables, do a one-record (since loscope=hiscope on a unique index) scan on the master, and then a group of indexed lookups into the slave...

Performance question
I^ve been asked to find out if there^s any way to speed up an xBase report. The report in question is an Auto Policy declaration, just two pages, not very complex and no graphics, so they^re wondering why it takes 16 seconds per report (on a fast single-user machine, preview only.) It^s doing a sing...
