MOM 6.0

Post by Michael_G_(Guest) » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:50 am

Hello,____Will R&R work with MOM 6.0? I have heard from the discussion boards over at Dydacomp that at the moment it does not work with MOM 6.0. I have R&R version 10.____Thank you,____Michael Gutierrez__Independent Living Aids__1-800-537-2118

You can upgrade to R&R Version 12 to get support for MOM 6. We have just created a 12.0.009 update that supports MOM6/Visual Foxpro 9 tables that contain nullable key indexes and autoincrement fields.____Kathleen__R&R Support

There is no way to get R&R 11 to work with it? I hear that the new MOM is organized in to .DBC^s and when you go to select master table, R&R will let you pick .DBC files...____Thanks__Miken

You need Version 12 because of the changes in table structures (such as autoincrement fields) that were made in Visual Foxpro 9 (which is used by MOM6).____Kathleen__R&R Support

Will old reports written using MOM 5.4 and an older version of R&R convert to Version 12 or will all reports have to be redone?

Some reports may need to be re-done.____The folks at MOM in addition to moving to Visual FoxPro 9 also changed some of the field names and data types within the MOM tables.__Fields that were date fields in MOM 5 are now datetime fields in MOM6. In the CMS table, the numeric field named order is now an autoincrement field that is named orderno. I just got a copy of MOM6 and am compiling a list of all of the structure changes.____If you open a report and there is a change to a field name or data type, R&R will complain and require you to edit the report.____Kathleen__R&R Support____

Ya know, a utility that could convert reports from the old version of MOM to the new version would be some quick cash for Liveware Publishing. <hint, hint>____MikeN

Or for anyone else who would have the time and inclination to do so.____If anyone is interested, I can give you some basic information to get started provided you are willing to sign a non-disclosure form for us.____Kathleen__R&R Support__livesupport@livewarepub.com

The folks at MOM have provided no formal document of what has changed.____But from looking at the data files, I can tell you that all date fields are now date time fields. The numeric field ORDER is now an autoincrement field called ORDERNO and the DESC field in ITEMS and STOCK is now called DESC1.____Kathleen__R&R Support
