R&R 12.0.002 - Terminal Server

Post by Katie_(Guest) » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:10 am

Version__Windows Server 2003 R2 sp2__R&R v12 12.0.002____Are there any known issues with the rsw.ini file in Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services?____I continue having problems with my default file settings in Options, File Settings. The LibDir entry is ignored in my Term Serv environment.____*I have copied a rsw.ini that the default file setting works from our Citrix environment, and it does not read the LibDir entry in our Term Serv environment (but it does in our Citrix environment).__*I ran Process Monitor, and do see it access my rsw.ini file.__* I have compared registry entries for reg_dword, and the values are the same between the Citrix and Terminal Server.____For the default file setting, it looks to the Library32 entry in the ini file, not the LibDir. The Librray32 entry changes as reports are accessed.____Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

I still have a "roaming" default directory when opening a report. What in the ini file controls the user seeing the same default directory each time they open a report?____Thanks for your help.

I confirmed that the path in LibDir is the default directory where reports are being saved to.

The Libdir setting controls where reports are saved when you create a new report and save or do a File Save As. It does not control the default folder that is presented when you want to open a report.____Does that explain what you are seeing?____Kathleen__R&R Support

If there is an entry in the Library32 in the SaveList section of the INI file, R&R will use that Library32 location as the default when you choose Open Report. That entry gets written any time you do a Save or Save as.____If you want to ensure that only the Defaults LibDir would be used, you could set the LibDir and then make the INI file read only so that no changes could be made to it.____Kathleen__R&R Support
