Trying to print to a text file

Post by FRED_EMMERICH_(Guest) » Thu Dec 13, 2001 12:26 pm

I am trying to print my report to a file without any printer codes showing up, so I set up a printer in Windows that was generic text. When I print from R&R (XBASE 8.1) to the printer, and specify "print to file" I get a file with my output, but the formatting is all garbled. I have some of my page heading words split onto several lines and the fields on the report itself overlap one another. Previously I had printer to .pdf and it came out looking just like it does on the printer. How come this does not work? I need just straight text in a file so I can play with that file, and the R&R export options do not give me the complete report.____Thanks

Try File Export and then select Text as the export type.__This should get you the closest to what you want.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I thought it would only export one band line. I was trying to get the whole report in a straight text file.
