Inserting groups

Post by AEHowell_(Guest) » Thu Jan 24, 2002 3:02 pm

How can I insert a sort and group and keep the existing data in the same group bands on the report. If you simply insert the sort and group fields into the appropriate places, all that data on the actual report is shifted so that it appears in the same sequence of bands but not in the original band. This holds true for the total fields as well; they total on the band sequence, but do not retain the original expression. ____My thanks to anyone who can help!____

The reset level for Group total fields does get associated with a level number rather than a with a specific group field name.____So if your report has 3 levels of grouping and totals that reset at each level, if you insert a new group field at the top, your totals will still reset a 1, 2 and 3 even though the old groups have moved down to 2, 3, and 4.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Sounds to me like a topic for future features! That^s a particular problem with R&R that drives me crazy. The subtotals are nearly always irrelevant once you insert a group, aren^t they now.
