RSWRUN Access Violation

Post by Ben_Brett_(Guest) » Thu Apr 25, 2002 10:49 am

I have an application that shells out to RSWRUN.EXE ro run reports against a MS SQL Server 7 database. When I select the report file from a folder the following happens:____1) The dialog to edit the filter is displayed OK__2) The choice of output destination (screen, printer, export) is OK__3) I choose screen in step 2) - my set up still prompts me for a printer which I leave with the windows default, press OK and get an access violation in RSWRUN.EXE at address 0x77c07939____Now this is the weird bit ... if at step 3 - I change my choice of printer then it works fine, this is irrespective of printer that I choose.____The problem happens with all my reports but the reports work correctly from the report designer.____My copy of RSWRUN.EXE is version 8.1.026 but the same problem occurs with a RSWRUN.EXE from version 9. The clients are running Windows NT 4.0____Any help would be very much appreciated.____Ben
