PDF setting not saved with report

I have several report which I saved with the PDF export as the way to present the report. Then I used RapidRun to run the reports on a monthly basis. In RapidRun, I would use the Saved report settings. this keeps me, and users from having to go into R&R to print reports.____After installing the update.zip about PDF problems, I now find that when I save a report with the PDF option set, it is not saved that way, and the next time I open it or try to run it from RapidRun), it has the HP Laserjet 4 as the printer. It still has the print to file box "xed" and it still has the file name in the file name box. ____This situation renders RapidRun almost useless since the correct setting is not saved with the report. ____Any suggestions???____ps. Check out the report file with a Hex editor and you should see R&R PDF Export and your export file name in there.____What choices are you making in Rapid Runner? I opened my report that had a saved printer R&R PDF Export and for the destination selected print to file and a PDF filename. I did not select a printer from the printer list. And when I ran the report, my PDF output was correctly produced.______Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen, ____I opened a report in the designer that has always produced a PDF file (I email it to others). It had the HP laser jet selected with the check box Xed and the file name in place. I changed the printer to PDf Export, and ran the report. It correctly produced a PDF report in the correct folder. Leaving the PDF in the printer selection, I saved the file and answered Yes, I wanted to save changes. __ __I then reopened the file, two seconds later, went to the print setup and the laserjet was back in the printer selection. So all of this happens well before I even get to RapidRun. I noticed the problem in RapidRun when in RapidRun, set to use the Saved Report parameters, produced a paper listing, not a pdf file. ____Thanks again for your assistance. On NT, every time you open the printer dialog, it defaults to the current default printer rather than the printer saved with the report.__But the PDF printer really should be saved and you should be able to just enter an output filename in Rapid Runner and a print to file destination.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I verified that this is true. This is part of the confusion. Because when I see it say the rporpt is the HP, I naturally want to change it ot the PDF export.____Now, understanding that, I go to Rapid Run, with Scope set to Use __Report Settings and no Other Settings set to anything except the default, I run the report and it goes to the HP printer. ____I looked at "Report Destination", but PDF Export is not one of the choices.____Rick Johnson

I went into Rapid Run and changed the destination to file and gave the file name a valid entry (c:pctellermetrics.pdf). Running it, it went to a file, but not a vaild pdf file, it is only a text file with an extension of pdf and is not readable with Acrobat, giving an error message.____I guess this is one of the prices to pay for upgrading to NT from Win95. ____Rick Johnson

Sounds like a problem I had! Do you have acrabat on your computer? If so, rename the file CDINTF.DLL to anything and then try it again and see if that works. It does not matter what you rename it too, as this is almost the same as deleting it. If this does not work, then you will be able to rename it back to CDINTF.DLL____It is my understanding that if you have a pdf reader on your system and you have the CDINTF.DLL file in the directory that is running reports, there is a conflict. I^ll bet that the file it prints to is extremely large...
