Printing on dot matrix printers...

Post by Marcelo_Alaggio_(Guest) » Mon Sep 16, 2002 6:16 pm

Kathleen,____I am posting this message again, since I did not receive any response for the last one. Is there any order of priority to answer the questions? :(____I am printing a report on a Epson FX2170 printer. I would like to print using draft condensed font (witch is the faster one). Within the report I select the desired printer, what enables me to choose Draft 17cpi. I set the printer to draft condensed in its front pannel. __Although the result report is printed using this font, it is extremaly slow. I notice that the printer is always changing from font Roman to Draft condesed to everty caracter printed in the report (I can see this because this printer indicates the font it is using in the front pannel). __I tried to change the driver to another epson printer, but the results was the same.__I used to use RR6.0 for DOS, and it always printed very fast with this kind of printer and font. __Please, don^t tell me that this is due to windows driver.__Can someone help me with this?______Marcelo Alaggio__Delphus Informatica Ltda.__Porto Alegre - RS - Brazil__alaggio@delphus-inf.com.br__55 51 33214177____

Well there is one of me and many of you. I try to read messages in the forum serveral times a day/seven days a week and contribute an reply to any query as I view it but that is not always the case.__ __I think that what you are seeing may be a bug in our handling of the windows driver and that we are not directly using the printer native condensed font.____What you might try is exporting the report to text and then printing that text file from notepad or wordpad or maybe using the generic printer driver and setting draft from the control panel.______Kathleen__R&R Support
