Unicode Characters

Hello,__I am trying use static Unicode characters on my report however they are being changed to question marks. How can I get around this? The sqlexp function returns an error of ^The SQLEXP() function is not supported in user-SQL reports.^ I am using SQL Edition version 12. ____Thanks in advance!__
