RR FIF - From DOS to Windows

Post by Cheryl_Bellucci_(Guest) » Thu Oct 31, 2002 11:33 am

Hello all...____We^re currently working on converting some old FoxPro DOS programs to run under Visual FoxPro. Right now, I^ve successfully got the DOS programs running, but I^m having a problem with a couple of R&R reports.____I have an R&R Report (Version 6) that uses a Font Information File (FIF) to pull a barcode font from an HP DIMM. If I run this report under DOS... it works... barcode prints: everyone happy. If I run this report under FoxPro for Windows (using R&R 8 and the "?" to select a Windows Printer), the barcode does not print. The DIMM is loaded on the printer with both cases. We even have the DIMM fonts "downloaded" so you can see them in the printer configuration.____Is there a way I can get R&R 8 to recognize the FIF from R&R 6?____(Yes, we will be upgrading *everything* to R&R 10 very soon... this is an intermediate step so we don^t have to jump everything at once.)____Many thanks!__Cheryl Bellucci__

R&R uses the file RRWFIF.INI in the R&R program directory to translate fonts used in reports from DOS to Windows. There is a section in this file for each FIF that we shipped with R&R and a listing of the translated fonts that will be used when DOS reports are converted. You would need to edit this file to add the name of the FIF file that you used in DOS and to add the translation information.____Kathleen__R&R Support
