page index at the end of a report

We are creating an alphabetical catalogue of lab equipment we have for sale. ____A database "HEADINGS.DBF" is used in conjunction with our inventory file. When the item in the inventory file first matches a heading in the headings file, a header is printed in larger/bold type. ____I would like to create an index at the end of the report which__lists either each unique item or each heading beside the page number on which it appears, similar to the index at the back of a textbook or sales catalogue.____I haven^t got a clue as to how to proceed, but someone else must have tried to do the same thing before. Any suggestions ?
