RR9 Crashes when print

Post by mike » Thu Feb 27, 2003 5:30 am

I have an installation with a Sharp Printer (Model SN-1045) None of my reports runs correctly. In all the other installation the problems i have encountered (many) habe been corrected. Always the same message (RRWRUN32 has caused....and will be closed) What can i do to bypass the new problem ? I have already renamed files to export in pdf. I use build 9.0.9. I have designed the report and set the printer with that i have the problem with no results.__I have many doubts to use release 10 of RR.__I am seriously thinking to return to VFP standard reports designer.____Thanks

Are you saying that you can print to this printer from the report designer but not from runtime? What do you use for your RI_WPTR value at runtime?____Kathleen__R&R Support

I have found the parameter you have said (RI_WPTR ) correpsonds to Printer Property in ocx control. I set this prop to "?" so it asks me the printer to use. On my pc i have many printers installed because i have seen that when rr crashes on customers^ pc if i set from designer the defualt print with the same name of that is installed on customer^s pc rr doesn^t crash. I can do this with particular reports that are specific for one customer. With Sharp printer model SN-1045 this method doesn^t correct the error. __

The only thing you could do would be to set the printer property to Default or to the name of the Sharp printer for this user instead of allowing the ? printer selection.____Kathleen__R&R Support

We know think that the "fix" exe is not really a fix.__What happens if you select the properties button from the printer dialog before you try to print. Does that make any difference?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Or what happens if you set the compatibility mode for RRWRUN.EXE to Win98/ME?____Kathleen__R&R Support
