duplex printing
I^ve created a report that prints duplex when running from Report Designer (RR10). However, when I run it from Report Viewer it doesn^t seem to "remember" to duplex.____In a previous version (a VERY long time ago) we were able to create a UDF that we named DUPLEX() that passed the escape codes to the printer. We put the field at the top of the report.____Using a Tektronix (now Xerox) Phaster 840.____Any suggestions?

You cannot pass escape codes to the printer through R&R Windows.__Are you running the report from runtime on the same machine where you can successfully duplex from the report designer?__Kathleen__R&R Support

Yes, I^m doing the view printing from the same machine that I run the design version of the report. (win2000 workstation.)____Laurie

We had the same problem. We created a new printer in the printers folder with the duplex setting set as default and named it Phaser 850 duplex.____You can create several printers in the printers folder with different default settings like duplex, landscape, black and white only that are for the same physical printer.____David

Works on Win9X stations, but Windows2000 won^t allow this for a network printer. ____I^ll have to use this as stopgap since I only have two Win2000 workstations.____Would love to hear from R&R why this isn^t storing with the file.____

I think that the problem is not that the setting is not stored with the file (if you look at the report with a hex editor you should be able to see the paper source selection displayed in plain text but rather in how it is being interpreted by runtime.__Are you setting a value for RI_WTPR in your control file? What happens if you double click execute RRWRUN.EXE and then manually select the report?____Kathleen__R&R Support
