Ver 10+ Install Error Message

Post by Mike_Pelone » Tue May 27, 2003 10:18 pm

____I recently upgraded to 10+ Step Up but during the upgrade installation, I received the following error message on my Windows XP machine. "...String variable is not large enough for string. Check string declarations. Error 401..."____On my second PC that has Windows 95 _ there was NO error message. My question is: was this a non-fatal installation error since the installation wizard finished the install. Has any of the "functionality" of the 10+ been lost? Any other users reporting Windows XP installation problems versus Win 95 and/or Win 98??____Thanks for any clarification...______Mike P.__Buffalo, NY__

I think that the problem occurs when you choose to install ALL of the available ODBC drivers.__If you un-select any of the drivers so that the list is shorter, then it works fine. You can then go back a second time and install the drivers that were missed the first time around if you really need all of them.__We will have a look at why this is happening.______Kathleen__R&R Support

____O.K. - I will reinstall only those drivers I need which will surely be less than all drivers available later today...____Thanks for the timely response...____Mike P.__Buffalo - NY____
