Printing problem on W2K

Post by Julien_Molines_(Guest) » Tue Jun 03, 2003 4:04 am

I am currently maintaining a 16-bit application. It uses the 6.5.008 Runtime version of R&R. We are currently testing the application under W2K and the following error occurs everytime we attempt to print on networked printers : "Cannot match printer or port in control file"____However there is no problem on a local printer.____Is there something to do to fix this error ?____JM

Upgrading to Version 10+ will resolve this for you.____Kathleen__R&R Support

JM,____How are the network printers defined? If they are listed in the Printers window as "Auto Printname" then install the printer driver on the workstation computer directly instead of letting it be auto installed. Also, make the printer name shorter. If it still doesn^t work make the computer name your linking to shorter with no spaces in the name, ex. "\server1epson". It will work, I have hundreds of customers using 6.5.08 under W2K and XP.____Regards,__Randal____>I am currently maintaining a 16-bit application. It uses the __>6.5.008 Runtime version of R&R.
