Box sizes calc parameters

In producing quotations, we use memo fields (or text files containing descriptions) which are naturally of varying length depending on nature and extent of description. With the ability of say Funcky to determine the number of lines in a text file (this number or depth) could then be passed as a parameter to the control file from which a calculated field could then draw a box to place around the text from say a text file field (e.g. .firstpara {xxxxxx} Is there any code to anywhere to calculate and then draw the box determined by passed parameters? __Whilst the manual suggests extending box lines over and beyond report sections, we have tried this but with only limited success! We are using RR ver 9.0009 on Windows XP Home__Carleton Croft - Brisbane Australia

If you group by a field that changes with each memo then you place the top of the box in a group header, the bottom in a group footer and the memo on a record band. This works except in the case where a memo extends across pages.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks Kathleen, as you say, memos extending across pages IS THE problem, if we can get the extended char set to work, we might have a workaround for this - if so will send you the code__Regards__Carleton
