Insufficient memory error
Insufficient memory error
I have a user with 2 copies of a custom application of mine running on his network, using R&R 10 runtime. One copy is running OK. In the other, he gets an "Insufficient memory" error from the run-time on one report. All other reports work OK. The exact same report works on one copy, but not the other. The error happens on different machines on the network, ranging from older Win98 machines through new Win2000 machines. The applications are the same, just running against different data files. Why does one get this error and the other does not, and more importantly, how do I work around the problem?____Thanks,__Dennis

I think that you may need to do more troubleshooting to determine what makes a good vs. bad report. Do all of the machines have the same hardware configuration/memory?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Well, that^s what^s so puzzling. The configuration of the machine seems to make no difference. On the _same machine_, copy A of the program runs the report OK, but copy B of the program gets the "insufficient memory" error running the same report. It^s NOT a case of one PC works and another doesn^t. The same situation is happening on his older machines (Windows 98), and newer Win2000 machines with plenty of memory. In all cases, there is no other application running on the machine.____Dennis

No more help to offer on this one?____Dennis

I am pretty much out of ideas on this one I am afraid..____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____Finally figured this one out! It was a problem with a data file (an FPT memo had exploded from about 5K to 1.2 GIG). Guess it was no wonder it ran out of memory trying to read it.____Thanks,__Dennis
