Some Rpts Won^t Page Eject

Post by dknapp » Fri Sep 26, 2003 11:15 am

When printing to HP2100 and HP2200 printers, SOME reports won^t eject at end of job. They just sit there in printer until the print button gets pushed. All of our reports are single page, done in R&R 8 for xBase. Cannot find common thread, since some work fine and others just hang in printer at end of job. When that happens, newer jobs time out because printer has unfinished job. Older printers (HP3 and HP4) work OK. Have tried adding new page lines, but that just forces out first page and blank second page just sits there as before. Any suggestions anyone?

What if you try an HPIII or IV printer driver?__Kathleen__R&R Support

They work fine. The report prints and page ejects at the end of the job as you would expect. The problem is only on the newer printers. BTW, we have made sure we have the latest HP drivers.

Hi,__I^ve been using the same versions and have had the same problem. The only way I have been able to correct the problem is set the printer up as an HpIII, just like Kathleen suggested in the previous thread. This will fix the eject problem. Good luck.__Lynn

Using HP III drivers does work, but that seems to me to introduce possible problems with other applications that might want to use the capabilities of the 2100 printer. I also need to go around to my users, kick them off the PCs, login in as admin, change the printer driver, etc. If we have a network shared printer with drivers that automatically load, that introduces one more complexity. I would rather have an application fix, rather than go through that route. But thanks for the suggestions.
