R&R10+ and MS Access

Post by keithscs » Fri Oct 17, 2003 9:18 am

Hello folks,____I^m trying to use R&R against a Microsoft Access database. When I connect via ODBC I get the error "No table names were found for this Data Source".____I^ve tried converting the database from Access 97 to 2000, using a file DSN and a system DSN, but everthing I try gives this error. Is MS Access supported in R&R10+? If so, any ideas what is wrong?____Thanks__Keith__SCS Harlow

R&R does work against Access tables.__The two things that I would try are using__Tools->Database Utilities->Compact and Repair Database within Access and I would also try saving the database into a new directory and see if that helps.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks for the help. Moving the .mdb file to a new directory solved it. The problem seems to have been that there was another, seperate, database in the same directory that was password protected. Note: the .mdb I was running against was not password protected.____By entering the user ID and password of the protected database into the ODBC control I can get the list of tables of the un-protected database. Looks like a bug somewhere.____Thanks__Keith__SCS Harlow
