char(2000) field on Oracle 8.1.7

when we run a R&R version 10 report with a char(2000) field in the select statement we get the "number out of range" error. we are using microsoft odbc for oracle driver. anyone having a similar problems who could shed some light on this? ____thanks.

We have experienced the same problem. We^ve been successful using Oracle^s own ODBC driver or Merant^s ODBC driver for Oracle (although this driver had other problems when we moved to Oracle9i). ____I suggest the Oracle driver..____Doug C.__

I just tried it using the driver from Oracle and did not see the error.______Kathleen__R&R Support
