new flat files

Post by Linda_Kay » Wed Feb 04, 2004 11:25 am

I have one report that has 128 total/calculated fields which are being blown away when I change the master table to a new table which uses the same structure. I tried using the alias of the old master table when I opened the report and it didn^t work. Any sugggestions?

If the new table has the same structure as the current master file, then you should be able to make the change without a problem. Check again to be sure that the tables have exactly the same field names and data types.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I agree with Kathleen.____I do this all the time using files from prior years but all the same struture. Never had any problem with this, even back in prior versions of R&R. I am betting there are a few fields that have the types changed and then is multiplied in the calculated fields.
