RR Version 9

Post by Colin_Brodie_(Guest) » Wed Feb 11, 2004 12:10 pm

Page Footers.____When you type any text into a page footer line and preview the report there is a gap that appears above the first footer line that slowly increases with every new bit of text you insert on other footer lines. This leads to an annoying space between the records and the page footer. Annoying because sometimes the report drifts on to 2 pages when there is evidently enough space on page 1 to take the extra text. Has anyone found a way to get around this or does version 10 fix this bug/feature?x(

Hello,____I am using Win XP(did it on 98SE,2000 as well),RR Version 9 with the patch etc. The report/s contain titles, headers, groupheaders, records, group footers, and page footers.____We also use font Times New Roman with a default size of 10. Obviously the header text can be different sizes etc.____The printer drivers are current. Note that the preview screen shows the effect I describe too. Its not that RR isnt WYSIWYG it is. It would just be fine if I had greater control over this gap.____The way I demonstrated this was to have a blank report consisting of a few lines of header followed by a record line followed by a few footers. If I previewed you could see the colour bands on the preview all touched each other. As soon as i put in a line of text on the first footer line and previewed there was a gap visible. The more lines of text you add the greater the gap became. This is why I get this space appearing on my reports. I just wondered if we had any other way of stoppping this.
