Export to Char Delim TXT Data File
[updated:LAST EDITED ON Mar-29-04 AT 01:52 PM (EST)]I am using RR Xbase v 10.0.012 on Windows XP Workstation. My problem is: A customer requires data in a "pipe (|)" delimited format. I can create the file but certain fields contain "" around the data. For instance, we have a field named LOCNUM. It is a character field that contains only numbers. When this LOCNUM field is exported, the resulting data looks like this "123456"|. I need it to export without the "". I would use the VAL function but there are other fields where this problem occurs as well. For instance, we have another fields named API. It is again a character field but contains numbers separated by dashes (12-345-67890). The exported data looks like this "12-345-67890"|. The VAL function would result in 12|.____Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

You could export to TXT rather than text data and manually add the delimiters to the layout.__In 10.1.003 you can do a TXT export that removes any margins and page breaks.____Kathleen__R&R Support
