Can^t export from header band?

Hi,____I^m trying to export to a Text Data File with a header record, detail records and a trailer record. These records must all be fixed-width records.____I^m aware that with Version 9, it^s only possible to export a band at a time (to separate TEXT Data files). ____I can export the detail and summary record to separate files.__However, I can^t seem to export from the Page Header band line - which contains miscellaneous calculated fields (containing literal text values) as my header record. I^ve tried creating a group header band - but get the same problem, i.e. "No fields to export on the selected line".____I^d really appreciate help with this.____Regards__Imtyaz Jumani

When I try exporting from the Group Header band ("1-GrpHead") it now seems to be writing a blank file of 0 bytes in size. It^s not exporting the test items that I^ve put into this band (even though I^m selecting this band for export in the Export Dialog Panel).____Just for reference, I^ve got a variety of items in this band, including text fields as well as fields sourced from calculated fields with literal text in them such as ^test^.____Am I missing some properties on this band which is causing it not to export ?? (I^ve experimented with the Logical Field selection - as well as leaving it defaulted at (None)).____Help !!!

Make sure that you have actually selected a field as your first Group Field in Database->Group Order____Kathleen__R&R Support
