Program Launches but Never Runs

I use an old version (6.5) of R & R Report Writer. For some unknown reason the program failed to run recently. I have reinstalled it 4 times on my Windows XP Professional machine. When I 1st try to run the program, upon the installation completion, I receive the follwing error message: RRWEXE caused a general protection fault in module RRW.EXE at 0001:4436. I must then exit. When I try to run the program again, the Report Writer Splash screen appears but the hour glass continues to run indefinitely. I then installed R & R Report Writer on 2 other machines to test if my installation disks were damaged or corrupted. Both installations worked fine and R & R Report Writer ran as it should. Apparently there is a problem with conflicting software or hardware on my computer that is prohibiting R & R from running. Does anyone out there know a solution to my problem? The best solution is to upgrade to the latest 10.1 release. Version 6.5 is a 10 year old 16 bit version.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thank you Kathleen for your response.____Unfortunately, I am tied to this version because of a custom software program we use that utilizes only v6.5. The software company said that an upgrade version would not be compatible.
