Paper size resets at dif w/s
Hello all:____ I^m using Report Writer v10. I have a form that gets printed as a short form on a dot matrix printer (approx 8.5 x 7). The form is located on the file server since multiple workstations need access to it. I set up the form to use our custom paper size (named Invoice), both on the printer (all three places in Win2k) and in the Page Setup and Printer settings in Report Writer. Once this is done, that workstation prints fine. But other workstations accessing the same form and printing to the same printer print too long, with text going onto the next form. When looking at the Report Writer form From the Second Workstation, I find that the paper size in Page setup and in the Printer settings is set to Letter. I change it to Invoice and set the margins, etc. but then the first workstation looses its settings and defaults back to Letter. ____ In reading the other forum messages it appears that the printer is saved along with the form - which is fine, but why don^t the paper size and margins save with the form as well??? How can I make all the workstations use the same form??? Thanks very much for any help you can offer.____Thanks,__Jon

On XP and 2000 R&R stores the server form size in such a way that is only available to the machine where that report was saved. So I could have 2 XP machines, both having the same form size but the report will print correctly only on the machine where it was created. On the other machine it will be confused.____It is a BUG and unfortunately the only current workaround is to save multiple copies of the report, one for each machine.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks, Kathleen:____ Any idea when a fix for this will be available? Our software only gives us options to choose three forms and we need four... :( ____BTW, thanks for the quick response. Looks like I repied to my own message before...____Thanks,__Jon
