Joins across dirs

Post by Mike_Brumley_(Guest) » Tue Mar 22, 2005 12:58 pm

Do these work at all? In any version? With any types of tables?____In v10 SQL, I^ve gotten as far as a dialog that disagrees with itself - it shows one place as the currrent directory, but lists tables from another place entirely. It seems pretty obvious that this has to be a bug in version 10, since it^s your dialog that can^t seem to make up its mind where it really is.____As a test I tried the same thing with MS Access - created mdb^s in two separate dirs, enabled JoinAcrossDirs, and tried to do a join. Nope - I can pick a table from either dir as the Master, but get an error (No tables found) when I try to join to a table in the other dir.____In both cases I was able to get this done in Crystal in about five minutes, in principle this isn^t rocket science, and there doesn^t seem to be anything wrong with my table or ODBC setup. If there^s a bug here, please say so, I^d like to quit wasting time if it isn^t ever going to work. If there are other RSWSQL.INI settings I should try, please let me know what they are.____I^d also like to know if v11 goes about this differently - would my chances be any better with that version?____Thanks,__Mike Brumley__
