RRW.INI in version 11

Post by Jimi_Chappell_(Guest) » Mon May 02, 2005 5:29 pm

We have upgraded to v11.0 and when they input the default report directory, it does not seem to save the directory. Instead, it defaults to the last directory used by any user.____This is a server install and then the users are installed from the network. The individual users appear to be using an .ini file in the user RRW directory on the server rather than one on their workstations. Is there any way to change this?

If there is an INI file in the program directory, we will indeed read that file first however any changes made within the designer that impact the INI (such as changing defaults) will be written to the local c:windows copy of the file.____Kathleen__R&R Support

If we rename the ini file in the directory, will it use the individual workstation ini files exclusively? That is what we would like to happen.

Kathleen,__We have renamed the ini file on the server and it is indeed using the one in the C:Windows directory. The problem is now that the default Report Directory is not saved anywhere in the ini file and the program is opening the last directory used to open a report. It appears from the ini documentation in help that this is automatically saved in the [Save As] section under Library32 and we have confirmed that this is what it is doing. Is there any way to actually save the default file settings? Would we add a "ReportLib" entry to the [Defaults] section?__Thanx for your help on this!
