Trying to link tables without match item

I am running 8.1 XBASE. I want to link one of my tables to a single record table that has no common data item. I seem to recall in DOS R&R there was a way to link a table in this fashion whereby the data in that linked table was available to every composite record even though there was no link. Can this still be done?____Thanks

Yes.__Create a calculated field with expression:__1__and then use this as the linking field selecting record number link to the related database rather than going through the index.____Kathleen__R&R Support
