Drawing a ^titled^ box

Dear Friends,____ I ^know^ how to draw a box *but* I want the box to look like the following:____ ------- My Title Here -------__ | |__ | (other stuff in here) | <--- my box__ | |__ ------------------------------____ However, its annoying to create a box, THEN to get rid of the top line, THEN put my Title in place, THEN draw two little lines at the top on each side of the title which match up, and THEN try to get the two top little lines to meet the original top-corners of the box (without my shaky hands scrtewing things up).____ Back in R&R for DOS 6.0a, this was a ^piece of cake^. Why is it so tedious now, and so fraught with error. Its very shakey to lengthen lines by moving the mouse (they either end up too short or too long). Would like a ^key^ method to lengthen lines but (appparently) there isn^t any <F7> that will allow one to lengthen a line.______Thanks for any hints or comments to RTFM.____-Mel Smith____ If I^m missing something, please tell me where to look in the documentation.

If you right click on your box, you can use properties to control which sides of the box get displayed. Does that help?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____ Yes, I *do* use the properties of the Box to ensure the *top* line of the box is NOT displayed. Wouldn^t it be nice if I could enter a title field right over the top of the top horizontal line ?? Hmmmm ? ____ Anyway, THEN, I have to go in and put the title in, then draw two little top lines on each side of the box, and try to get them to just touch the two vertical sides to make the box neat again.____ But its this little touch-up step that got me frustrated.____ Am I missing something here ??? (i.e., the lengthening of a line without using the darn mouse ! and getting it to join neatly to the two vertical sides of the box)____Thanks for any further info.____-Mel Smith__

Hi Mel,__I have had the same problem with setting up objects. The only way to set everything neat and tidy is to use the set grid. I set to 30 and adjust everything and set back to 10 for final display. Try this and see if it works for you.____Dan

(I was turning *off* ^snap-to-grid^ and trying delicately to length the lines until they touched the top vertical sides).____ I still think that a ^key^ method to lengthen lines is needed.____-Mel Smith__

To: Dan Flynn____ I tried setting the resolution to its highest (30 for vertical & horizontal spacing). This gave me a bit more control, but with those little square boxes on the end of a line and/or the little two-ended arrows when you^re at the end of a line, I find its still too difficult to make fine adjustments to the length of a line.____ It would be nice if there was a ^key^ meythod to lengthening a line.____THanks,____-Mel Smith__
