EMail Burst Frustration

Dear Kathleen:____I still find the email burst feature totally unuseable.____I seem to have 2 very basic problems.____1._How do I get more than one group header to be printed? Specifically, I am trying to send a daily commission statement to my sales reps. I have grouped the report by sales rep. Within sales reps I have grouped the report by Invoice number. Each invoice then has detail lines. The first invoice shows the invoice header information, but each additional one only shows the invoice detail and does not include the header____2._I am using Microsoft Outlook 2000. Each email that is sent is returned because of an incorrect address. I believe this is because the addresses that are exported from R&R are inside single quotation marks.____This sure sounds like a great feature that I would love to get to work. Can you help?____Sincerely,__RHS

Both of these problems are indeed bugs.____You can work around the first problem by moving the 2nd level group header to a record band and then applying a logical condition so that it prints just once per group.__I can send you a sample report that illustrates the technique.____The only workaround to problem 2 is to edit the resulting email address in the mail message.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Dear Kathleen:____That is definitely a shame. This was one of the most exciting features and compelling reasons to upgrade to version 9.____I would appreciate you sending me a sample report to see how I can handle the group headers.____Editing the email address is difficult in that my system automatically sends out email once R&R places it in the outbox.____Oh well....____Please send the sample report to:__RSeidman@metrogroupinc.com____Thanks for the help, and let me know when you fix the bugs.____RHS

I had the same two problems that you have. I will try Kathleens suggestions for fixing problem #1 (the group headers).____I also tried to use Outlook to email my reports. To solve that one, I installed Pegasus Mail (available free from www.pmail.com)and that works properly. The only drawback with Pegasus (which may be changed in the next version) is that all sent mail is queued, and I have to click "send all queued mail" to get it to send. Apparently, you can set it up so that it will send all queued mail when it checks for incoming mail, but since I don^t use it for incoming mail, I manually send it.____Good luck!____

Ditto for me. ____I keep looking from time to time on these boards to see when the e-mail bursting fix will arrive. Kathleen from Liveware has stated within this board that it appears the problem has been identified. ____This problem is keeping me from purchasing more licenses for other departments in my company. I only have one chance to make a positive first impression with others on this product.__If the bursting feature doesn^t work, it will immediately detract from the multitude of other great features that the product does have, and diminish the value of the product in the eyes of the new user before they even really start using it. ____See also my message within the "Error On E-Mail Burst" Section, June 6th thread. I have also experienced the __.RTF heading export problems. One is fixed by Kathleen^s suggestion, but I have another that is not. ____*******************__Mike____

We think we have problem 2 fixed and are sending an updated RRW.EXE out to a few users (including everyone who has posted messages in this thread)for field testing.__If it looks good, then we will be posting the update to the website for download.____Kathleen__R&R Support__

Has there been any resolution to problem #1 (Group Headers not repeating). I am running ver 8, and still have the problem.
