Error ^Cannot read totals file^

Post by Owen_Graupman_(Guest) » Tue Oct 21, 2003 11:51 am

Hi there,____We are using version 9 (last patch) to run an R&R report. At one of my customer^s site^s (using the runtime), R&R will produce the message ^Cannot read totals file^ after selecting the records from the database. This occurs on any machine at that site. We cannot reproduce the error here in our office, even using the customers exact database. Can you advise as to why they are receiving this message?____Thanks,__-Owen Graupman__NewEra Software, LC__801-447-4707

If this is the Xbase version you could try adding a SPECIAL section to the c:windowsRRW.INI file and in that section add a line that says:__RRWHANDLES=400____This might help.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Unfortunatly, this is the SQL edition. ____After additional testing, we^ve discovered that the problem relates to SQL subqueries we^re using in the User-SQL report. The table being subqueried has a larger than usual number of records in it (for our program). On our customer^s computer, this is causing some sort of memory error which is bubbling up into R&R. On our test machines, we don^t get this problem, but the test machines are newer/more robust. We^ve resolved the problem at the client site by archiving data from that table.____Thanks for your help.__-Owen Graupman
