I can^t find any details about the RO_EMSG found in this RRWRUN.OUT file.____[RRW Runtime output]__RO_ECODE=R__RO_EMSG=Error retrieving printer information__RO_REPORTS=0__RO_PAGES=0__RO_RIRECNO=1____Is there an error message resource with additional information anywhere?

Kathleen,____RI_WPTR=?____That^s what it says in the file. Does that mean there is no default printer set up on that machine?

Kathleen,____I think I got this issue figured out. The default printer on that workstation couldn^t be found on the network so we changed the default to another printer and now it works.____I^ve got another problem. When another workstation tries to print an R&R report, an R&R XBase error comes up with a big red x in it and all the description says is "Not Found". It doesn^t say what is not found though.____So I took a look at the rrwrun.out file on that workstation and the __rrwrun.out file looks like this:__[RRW Runtime output]__RO_ECODE=__RO_EMSG= not found__RO_REPORTS=0__RO_PAGES=0__RO_RIRECNO=0____And the __RI_WPTR=Default__on this workstation.____Any ideas on what is causing this R&R XBase error to come up when trying to print ANY report?

Can you double click execute RRWRUN.EXE on the bad machine and select/run a report without an error? That might give us a clue.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____We have our own custom built program and the rrwrun.exe is inside our program allowing users to print reports within our program. ____This program accesses a database that is stored on a server and the reports are on the server as well. Flat files are created/recreated on the workstations to run the reports from the server.____Now with all of that said, the program itself is completely closed on every single workstation. Actually, there is only one workstation.____So with this program closed we accessed RRWRUN.EXE through Windows Explorer and tried to run any report from the server and no matter what report we tried to run, we got an error.____The error is an R&R XBase error and it says that it cannot open the appropriate database table (table may be in use). With our program closed, I don^t see what could be accessing that table for the report not to print. Sometimes on the different reports we tried to print, a different table name would come up that it would say it couldn^t open.____So all in all, if we run RRWRUN.EXE independently from our own program and try to run a report (any report), we get an error.

A cannot open database error can occur when R&R cannot find a table that is used in the report in its saved location. ____If you set the DATADIR= to the table location in c:windows
rw.ini you can avoid this error.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____When we run RRWRUN.EXE independently and choose a report, we get the same identical R&R XBase error: Not Found.____The same error occurs whether we try to run a report in the program or try to run RRWRUN.EXE by itself.____Maybe that gives you some more information.

I have been away from the forum for a while so I apologize for the delay in reply.____Is it possible to modify the RI_WPTR value to be DEFAULT?____Kathleen__R&R Support
