Export to text looses spacing

We are transitioning our reports from RRDos to RR10+. Via runtime control, we have the ability to send any report as ascii text to a text file. What appears to be happening is when the report is printed to a ascii export, via the runtime control using either a rp1 or rrw definition, alot of the line spacing and character spacing is deleted or what appears to be some type of trimming. ____How can the DOS capabilities of exporting to a text file be retained with the windows version. I can send actual text file examples if needed.____Thanks. Cliff.____In RRDos, we see the following in the text file.____Date 09/17/04 09:22:06 x x x x x x x x x x x I N C Page 1__ SIMPLE INTEREST CONTRACT MASTER FILE STATUS-BY ACCOUNT NUMBER____ ----------- C U R R E N T B A L A N C E S ----------____ Orig Contr Res Amount Curr Due Non Accr $ Number of Num Current__Account Due Dealer Principal Discount Last Pymt Dealer Int Payments Time Pymt Due__Number Name/Telephone/Dealer Name Lst late Payoff due Late Chgs D Part A/P Unpaid Int Cpn Made Late Late Delinquent____000050000 2800.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 60 11 53 45 0.00__ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 0.00 0.00 0.00 -100.00 0.0000__ 5.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.0000__ PO BOX xxx__ WAUSAU WI xxxxx-xxxx Contract date 03/22/93__ (xxx) xxx-xxxx (xxx) xxx-xxxx Periodic pymt 71.10 Frequency M Total pymts 60 Date entered 03/22/93__ Collateral Code: Interest calculation method 02-Smp int-regular Int accr thru 06/29/94__ 0001.00000 No longer a dealer APR(effective) 17.999 Dealer participation % 0.00 Next due date 03/22/94__ Aging in days -999 Interest rate: 18.000 Payoff amount: 0.00 Valid thru 06/30/94 Date paid off 02/25/94____000050001 11000.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 15 19 0 0 0.00__ xxxx xxxxxxx, xxx. 0.00 0.00 0.00 42.20 0.0000__ xxxx W STEWART AVE 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.0000__ P O BOX xxx__ WAUSAU WI xxxxx-xxxx Contract date 03/29/93__ (xxx) xxx-xxxx (xxx) xxx-xxxx Periodic pymt 279.33 Frequency M Total pymts 60 Date entered 03/29/93__ Collateral Code: FR Interest calculation method 02-Smp int-regular Int accr thru 06/29/94__ 0001.00000 No longer a dealer APR(effective) 18.000 Dealer participation % 0.00 Next due date 11/29/94__ Aging in days -999 Interest rate: 18.000 Payoff amount: 0.00 Valid thru 06/30/94 Date paid off 06/29/94____In RR10+, using the same rp1 definition, we get the following:______Date09/17/0409:29:58 x x x x x x x x x x x I N C Page1__ SIMPLE INTEREST CONTRACT MASTER FILE STATUS-BY ACCOUNT NUMBER__ -----------C U R R E N T B A L A N C E S----------__ Orig ContrRes AmountCurr DueNon Accr $Number ofNumCurrent__Account Due DealerPrincipalDiscountLast PymtDealer IntPaymentsTimePymtDue__Number Name/Telephone/Dealer NameLst late Payoff dueLate ChgsD Part A/PUnpaid IntCpnMadeLateLateDelinquent__000050000 2800.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 60 11 53 45 0.00__ xxxx xxxxxxx, xxx. 0.00 0.00 0.00-100.00 0.0000__ 5.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.0000__ PO BOX xxx__ WAUSAU WI xxxxx-xxxx Contract date03/22/93__ (xxx) xxx-xxxx(xxx) xxx-xxxxPeriodic pymt71.10FrequencyMTotal pymts60Date entered03/22/93__ Collateral Code: Interest calculation method02-Smp int-regularInt accr thru06/29/94__ 0001.00000No longer a dealerAPR(effective)17.999Dealer participation %0.00Next due date03/22/94__ Aging in days-999Interest rate:18.000Payoff amount:0.00Valid thru06/30/94Date paid off02/25/94__000050001 11000.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 15 19 0 0 0.00__ xxxx xxxxxxx, xxx. 0.00 0.00 0.00 42.20 0.0000__ xxxx W STEWART AVE 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.0000__ P O BOX 865__ WAUSAU WI xxxxx-xxxx Contract date03/29/93__ (xxx) xxx-xxxx(xxx) xxx-xxxxPeriodic pymt279.33FrequencyMTotal pymts60Date entered03/29/93__ Collateral Code: FR Interest calculation method02-Smp int-regularInt accr thru06/29/94__ 0001.00000No longer a dealerAPR(effective)18.000Dealer participation %0.00Next due date11/29/94__ Aging in days-999Interest rate:18.000Payoff amount:0.00Valid thru06/30/94Date paid off06/29/94__000050002 2218.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 24 22 11 0 0.00____In RR10+ with a RRW definition, we still get the same thing in a different report:____Date09/17/0409:44:30 A Q U A F I N A N C E I N C Page 1__ CONTRACT MASTER FILE STATUS-REMAINING TERM MONTHS__ Current as of last end of day update09/17/04__Query: acctstatus="A".and.ccont_amt<>0.and.(contract->sec_num="2801".or.contract->sec_num="9003").and.agecalc<=60.and..not."B"$collstatus__ Range: to __ Weighted Discounts /Discounted__ Number Amount Amounts Other ReservesPrincipal Amt__ Number of months8 1 1207.29 9658.32 63.67 1143.62__ Number of months101 679.95 6799.50 57.81 622.14__ Number of months111 1135.73 12493.03 61.63 1074.10__ Number of months141 1116.98 15637.72 0.00 1116.98____

Are you using a fixed pitch font such as Courier New?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Yes, this report, as setup in the rp1 does not have a font file attached and uses the standard compressed font setup. These files, when loaded into RRVer10+ show up as courier new, 8.5 points.____This report when printed or displayed in RRVer10+ shows proper fixed pitch spacing. However, when exported via runtime or from the designer, it drops the spacing between the text data. The data is simply text fields, they do not tough and properties state start a fixed position, not end of previous field. ____I added some more fields, to the report, with both a fixed and proportional font and when exported to a text file, it behaves as if autotrim was in effect.____Is this a bug or am I missing something.____For example, if I add the 2 following items to a report______ Field1 Field2____they appear in the tex file as__ __ Field1Field2.____I did try to create a brand new report in RRW10+ and then export and it retained the spacing and tried a new rrv6 rp1 report, exported from RRW10+ and it also exported properly. However, using any of several live reports, all loose the spacing.____I need to know what is going wrong. If needed, I can send you a sample to look at and if support charges are required, just let me know.____My email is cwiernik@virchowkrause.com I had a tech support contract at one time but I think the time may have expired. Purchased a set amount that was not all expired about 2 years ago.____Thanks, Cliff Wiernik.

Trying editing the file RRWFIF.INI. In the first None section, edit it to read:__10=Courier-LD,Courier New,Courier__12=Courier-LD,Courier New,LinePrinter,Courier__Compressed=Courier-LD,LinePrinter,Courier New,Courier,12__CompPitch=10____A ,12 gets added to the Compressed= line and the CompPitch is changed from 17 to 10. __Save the file and then try the report again and see if it then exports correctly.____Regards,__Kathleen__R&R Support
