I am trying to switch RR10+ report designer from the RR6Dos report designer and have been experiencing significant speed reductions in report design. Maybe there is a better way.____In RR6DOS, you can press the F10 then Alt and the first letter, you incremental search the field listing and can very, very quickly select the desired field. Without pressing Alt, then it cycles through the fields with the letter entered. You cannot directly key in the field name during insert mode.____In the windows version, the incremental searching feature no longer is present and although this topic and request has been made since version 6 windows and each version thereafter, it has not been addressed. Given that most major applications, allow incremental search of fields, including the applications I develop (of which I know how easy it is), it is hard to see why this feature is not provided as a optional method.____>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>__However, given the fact that this does not appear to be any kind of a priority given financial considerations, as previous message in other topics have indicated, maybe this alternative can make the 10+ patch.____When the insert window pops up, it can be moved around and on larger resolution screen, it can even be moved completed off the report design area.____1. In preference, give an option to select default order, A-Z or database order____2. The field list area only lists 9 field names and the list box does not appear to be resizable. I would think it would be possible to provide the ability or make it a default to have the list box display the maximum number of lines based on screen resolution, just like the report design portion does. I routinely have report with multiple databases that in total can have 600-2000 available fields. Given only 26 letters of the alphabet, when a letter key is pressed, almost every time you have to scroll/page down, etc to get the field desired, significantly slowing down the process. Since you cannot directly key in a field name, I am looking for a quicker way to select fields.____I think that simply increasing the field list box size vertically will allow most fields of a given letter (likely 35 or more fields) to be displayed. I think that this option could be done with minimal effort and would assist many developers and end users alike. ____What do you think about this suggestion?

Kathleen, any thoughts on my suggestions. I have been a loyal user since the first release.
