Filtering on an empty value in R&R Version 10

I have an issue in R&R Version 10____I am trying to pick up records where a field isnull or ^^.____If I copy the sql from the report, it runs in sql without error, however Report Writer does not like it. I had to add a calculated field as a workaround.____Has this been reported before?

What type of database are you using? It should work without issue.
