Formatted Excel File

Post by KenB » Fri Feb 12, 2010 9:28 am

Is there any way to send a formatted Excel spreadsheet automatically to a user? I need to send some reports in this format on a regular basis. I can drop it into their network folder, but I can only send either a single band in this format or a text file. If I send a formatted text file, it cannot be imported correctly.____I have to schedule this to run on a regular basis.

You could export the entire report to text but with a csv file extension. Additionally you would need to add some invisible commas to each line of the report so that excel could parse the export into columns. If you format the commas with a white font they are invisible on the printed page but will appear in the output file.__May take a bit of experimentation to get this to work properly.____Kathleen__R&R Support
