Formatting a Date Field Filter

R&R 10 with SQL Server Data Source. I have a report which runs fine on the pc it was designed on which has a date field filter in the correct format (DD/MM/YY HH/MM/SS). When the report is loaded onto a second PC, the date filter format changes to MM/DD/YY HH/MM/(am or pm). As far as I can tell, the Regional Settings (British) are the same on both PC^s, the data source is defined the same and the SQL server database is common. The date field which is part of the filter also prints on the report. On both pc^s the format is correct (DD/MM/YY)____Where oh where is the second machine getting the idea to use a different format in the filter from?

The format for the date gets stamps into the report at the time it is created. The only time it would change would be if the report was open in the designer and then the control panel date format setting was then adjusted and the report was saved again.____In this case are you sure that is is exactly the same file?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thank you for your reply Kathleen. The plot thickens. If I start a simple listing on pc2 and include the date field in the filter, I get the MM/DD/YY HH/MM/(am/pm) in the filter editor. And yet the listing prints in the UK date format OK. I have checked and double checked the regional settings and they are British. I loaded the report designer onto another pc to test it and I get the same (wrong) result. On the face of it I can^t see a difference between pc1 (correct) and pc2 & pc3. Any ideas would be really appreciated.____Is there any chance that the designer could be picking up the date format settings from the server hosting the sql server database?____Regards - David

And again you are sure that it is indeed the same report file on the good and the bad machine? Can you try re-copying the report from the good machine to the bad machine?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks Kathleen for your prompt reply. I only have one copy of the report in question located in a folder on a server.____I have done some more work to narrow it down. The report that first highlighted the problem actually masked the overriding issue. ____When I install R&R10.0.012 designer on other machines on the domain (for testing purposes only), all date field filters, whether or not using an SQL data source or a Pervasive Client data source, give me the option of adding a date to the filter in what, I assume, is the American format. ____On my laptop which is used for development, I get the British format that I work with.____We are only using XP and 2000 Professional. I have checked and re-checked the regional settings and my laptop and the other pc^s are the same - all set to English(British). If I select Customise, the date and time format are British.____So I am left with this conundrum - I have pc^s with identical regional settings but with one I get British dates in the date filter and on the others I get American dates in the date filter. If I print a date in a simple listing, I get British format from both.____And here^s the strange bit - If I use Arpeggio2, all pc^s let me work with British date format.____Am I cracking up?
