Version 12. We have ParameterR&R fields set to data type "Character".____At run time, when the use is prompted for the parameter, they can^t enter any apostrophes in the character string. Is there a way to allow input of apostrophes into a character field so that they print on the report?____Thank you.

A single quote should work but a double quote would cause a problem since R&R uses double quotes implicitly around the entered string.____Kathleen__R&R Support

When a single-quote is entered, we can^t exit from the field prompt until it is removed. A double-quote is allowed and prints as such when entered into a ParameterR&R. Is there a trick to inputting a single-quote into a parameter field defined as character?____Thank you.

I just did a quick test with a report with no master table and a character parameterr field created by simply entering the name of the parameterr.____I placed it on the layout, widened its width, saved the report and ran it via runtime where I was able to enter a single quote and display it without a problem.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____I also created a blank report, no master table, and one simple ParameterR&R field (character) and experienced the same behavior as before - it would not accept or print the value with a single-quote.____We are running this via a Citrix Server...do you think this would play into this?____Thank you.

I guess it could but I am not sure why. Are you using the Xbase or the SQL version?____Kathleen__R&R Support
