Katherine,____ I posted a message on 12/26/2001 indicating that I was experiencing__a ^Librarian FILE in USE^ message while saving reports with R&R for DBASE ver 9.0009. I was aked a follow up question, I responded, and never received a following response from you. I have noticed that other users are experiencing problems related to the LIBRARIAN feature. Your suggestion is to change the RRW.INI file to __LIBRARIAN=OFF. What gives??? If we are to disable the LIBRARIAN, does that mean that it is a non-working feature??______Thank you.______HARVEY MINOT____hminot@exchange.ml.com

In defence of the Librarian I use it without any problems. In fact it works well and for a new feature it is surprisingly bug free! :) The problems others have experienced have not been encountered by me, but meybe I^m just lucky?____If you can get it to work I am sure you^ll find it a useful way of cataloging your reports so you can find them easily.____I hope you can get your problem resolved. Sorry, I can^t be of any practical help though.____Eddie Marshall__LandMaster__

Users experiencing Librarian problems are really in the minority.__The way that the librarian operates is that each time a report is saved, R&R creates a text file that is passed to the librarian cataloguer which is a Foxpro application. The cataloguer then updates a set a DBF files.__While the cataloguer is updating files, it needs exclusive access to those files. If something prevents this exclusive access, then you can indeed see errors.______Kathleen__R&R Support
