Not True Excel Files

We export Excel files to several clients for unattended automated processing. The export file created by R&R is not a true Excel file - all that has occurred is that the extension has been changed from WKS to XLS. After opening an "Excel" file created by R&R and saving it, an Excel dialog reports that the file "may contain features that are not compatible with WKS(1-2-3)." This confirms the file is in a WKS (not XLS) format.____In our situation the (XLS/WKS) files created by R&R cannot be processed by our customer^s automated system - they have to be true Excel files. Please either update R&R so that the files are Excel files, or don^t claim that it is.
