Post by antje » Thu Jul 10, 2003 10:34 am

Hi,____I have seen that there was a topic posted called "Extended Characters" and we are experiencing a similar problem. I have tried the suggestions given regarding the RRW.SRT but it has no effect.____We are trying to build grids through a memofield of a temporary database.__The ASCII character 179 representing a │is printed as ¦__the ASCII Character 195 representing a ├ is printed as +____Sample box as printed:__ +-----------------------------------------------+___¦ Kategorie ¦ Total ¦ 15.12.¦___+-------------------------------+-------+-------¦___¦ EPZ ¦ 10 ¦ 10 ¦___+-------------------------------+-------+-------¦___¦ Total ¦ 10 ¦ 10 ¦___+-----------------------------------------------+______Of course we would a proper grid to be drawn _ in RR6 this worked fine_.__what would we need to do to improve the drawing?____Any suggestions would be appreciated!____Thanks__

The what gets printed is a combination of the SRT file and the actual font/character you are using.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Hi Kathleen,____If I try the ASCII Character in Word I do get _  as a result as I am using codepage 437 on my PC (this codepage is the default according to the SRT file, if I understood it correctly). If I change the SRT file to read DBCHARS=ANSI I get a small 3 as an result... (which means it is even worse). I have tried changing the fonts for the line that displays the grid as well but results remain the same...____Therefore I assume that settings should be okay - It^s just via the R&R printout that lines look differently...____Would it be an idea if I mail a sample *.rrw (just with the grid) and a temporary *.dbt file attached to you to see if you get a better and correct result...? Then you could see how the memofield builds the lines as well...____Regards____Antje
