Out of memory During preview

I am currently working with 1 memo/text field carrying a small amount of text ,plus a few normal char fields in R&R 10.1 (patched) ,attatched to 1 table on MSSQL 7 using an ODBC connection to the server. MDAC 2.7____Running under Win2k wkststation with 1 gig memory.____If I preview through the data I get out of memory errors. I have to re-start R&R to get the report to function properly until the next preview does it again. I have had this happen on other reports. This is happening on more than one machine. But it does not happen with Version 9 (patched).____Are any other users suffering from this problem and is there a fix.__x(

I^m experiencing the same frustrating problem. I have several reports developed in RR10 (w/latest patch) and get the same "Out of Memory" messages during preview. My system has 512 MB RAM, so I don^t think this is the issue. I can preview the same reports fine after saving them in RR9 or 8.5. This seems to be an exclusive problem to RR10 and I haven^t seen it acknowledged or fixed as of yet. It^s very frustrating to keep re-starting R&R sessions just to try to preview once or twice.:-(

Certainly this one has been reported by a number of users but so far in our in-house testing we have not been able to reproduce it. And to have development fix something, I first need to be able to show them what is broken. So any more details/suggestions from users on how to make this happen would be much appreciated.______Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen:____All of these problems sound very similar to the problem I reported earlier this year with 9.0.____I sent CD with data, report file, etc. ____I am guessing this is showing up more now because exe eats up more memory in V10.____Perhaps if you revisit my report it will help.____Lonnie Wright__Florida Baptist Convention

Your report was a special case due to the number of charts and the complexity of the data. The current issue seems to happen even more frequently to V10 users but it may be a manifestation of the same issue so I will have the developers take another look at your reports which we still do have in house.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I concur with your comments.____I have been working on several reports today and have found that I am constantly running out of memory or getting general spooler errors.____I have gone back to using version 9 and am not having the problems.

I stopped getting spooler errors after completely removing all remnants of Version 9.0 and then installing the latest update, 10.0.011, to Version 10.0.____I just got an out of memory error this morning. I just restarted R&R and it previewed the same report just fine.____

We recently installed version 10 and constantly got "out of memory" message while saving or previewing a report. Then R&R bumped, licenses got locked-up. I turned off the librarian feature and it seems helped.____Sometimes when we preview a report, we got odd displays: the font on the preview window are mess up, it looks bold and big. Closing the preview window doesn^t fix the problem, we have to exit R&R and re-open the report.____We are using Win 98 2nd edition with 512MB RAM, with only R&R and email (GroupWise) opened, the system resources is 49% free. We are thinking this version of R&R doesn^t release memory probably after exit. Version 9 doesn^t have this problem. Our users on CITRIX doesn^t have any problems.
