I am running Reportworks version 11.1.007____For the past 2 years we have been running our program using__Access 2000__Windows xp____All OK .........______We have recently updated to Access 2007, and are experiencing problems..______Access 2007 will run as an .mdb or can be converted to .accdb__We are connected to the database via ODBC and have a selection .mdb and .accdb which we are using.____Have tried the odbc as .mdb and also .accdb____Some reports are working fine, but others seem to take an eternity.!____Have done some detailed testing with test reports...____If i have a calculated field and there are no joins, the calculation__accepts immediately.__BUT>>>__If i have a join from the master database to another database , when i do a calculated field it can take minutes to accept the calculation..all seems to depend on the size of the master database.__I have one master database which is extremely large, when i do a calculate field it never seems to accept...when i ctrl.alt.del it says not responding.__Exactly the same procedure under Access 2000 does not have a problem____??Would appreciate some help with this problem, are there any issues with Access 2007 that any other user has encounted.____Regards Karen__

Try adding the line:____AlwaysRR=1____to the DEFAULTS section of the file c:windows
sw.ini and see if that helps.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen, Thanks for your quick reply..____I have tried the AlwaysRR=1 but it does not seem to fix the problem.____I have done a lot more testing using every different way but cannot overcome the problem.____This is what i am doing to test.____1. Create an Access 2007 database with 2 tables__Forego is the main Fodrs is the 2nd__Fodrs has an index Debtors (primary)____2. Create an ODBC connection to the database____3. Create a new report using the above odbc connection____4. The master is Forego....__ If i create a caculation field eg test1 and put the calc. in as__ just one of the fields eg orderno when i click ok.. it registers__ immediately.__ But...if i do a join... eg link a field Debtora to the Fodrs __ table...and then edit the calc. field test1.. it takes ages __ showing the hourglass..____It seems dependant on the size of the master table... if i make the master table smaller , its quicker... if it is extremely large.. it probably does not ever complete..have to ctrl.alt.delete and close task______When i reload the saved report... it shows the hourglass for a long while... but eventually does print the report...____None of this happens in Access 2000...it only seems to be a problem in Access 2007..____If i do no links it works 100%____Appreciate any ideas of how to overcome the problem__Hope i have not overlooked anything !!!!!____Regards Karen________
