Paper Size

We have v8.0 RR reports that print check forms to 8.5x7 paper. The reports work fine when ran from the rull RR product. However, when ran on a test machine with just RRuntime installed the reports always print on a full page of paper (8.5x11), instead of the configured check form size of 8.5x7.____In development we saved the reports with the Page Setup dialog paper size referencing a Paper Source called Check which was setup with a paper size of 8.5x7. We are running the report on a Panisonic KPX2023 (dot matrix) printer.____In runtime we are testing on a Panisonic KPX2023 (dot matrix) printer. We also setup a custom paper source called Check with a paper size of 8.5x7.____We are developing and testing on Win2000 SP1 machines.____Note: We know the printer (Panisonic KPX2023) supports custom paper sizes because we have other reports (written in Visual FoxPro) that print correctly at various paper sizes.____Can you please give us some advice on what we have to do to get the RRuntime report to respect the paper size setup on the printer so we can print reports (i.e., check forms) with non-standard paper sizes?__

Runtime will attempt to use the paper size that is saved with the report. If it cannot be found on selected printer, then it will use that printer^s default.____So somehow R&R must think that the saved Check size is different than the current available check size.__Is there any way that you can install the runtime printer on the development machine and save the report with that printer to see if runtime then behaves correctly?____The solution from our end would be to add the ability to explicitly select a page size at runtime. We are looking into implementing this functionality but do not have it ready for testing quite yet.______Kathleen__R&R Support
