Print to lower stacker

I have employees that are trying to print to the lower stacker bin on our HP printers and are not having any luck. They are using the latest HP print drivers and are able to print to the lower bin using other apps such as Word and Adobe. Our company is using R&R v9. We have one person that has not upgraded the software from v7 and can sometimes print to the lower bin (it is not consistent).____The employees are currently using a workaround of converting the R&R report to PDF and printing it from Adobe.____Is this common for R&R? Is there a fix for it somewhere?____Thank you for your time!

Are you using File Page Setup in R&R and selecting the stacker in the Source box? (This is what should work.)__By no luck do you mean that you get an error message or does the report go to a different output tray?______Kathleen__R&R Support

The employees are trying to choose the destination of the output, not the source of where the paper is coming from. Instead of the print job going to the lower bin on the stacker, it goes to the upper tray even though they choose the destination as the lower tray. They do so by going to File, Print... in R&R, selecting the appropriate printer, then clicking on the properties button of the printer. Once inside the printer properties, they select the destination tab and under the Output bin options, they choose the lower stacker tray. The reports still print to the upper tray. This happens on all the printers (HP 9000dn, 8100dn, and 8550dn).____Do you have any suggestions?

Try setting the stacker in the printer properties dialog in Windows itself before you even start R&R and see if that helps.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____I have witnessed the same problem. It seems that R&R, in my case build 8.1.026, does not read/set the printer^s device context properly -- especially in printers that use an extended printer DC to store paper type and tray settings. I have seen this happen on the following printers, HP2000c, HP6p, HP2100, HP2200 and also a Tektronix Phaser 850.__
